LogicFalcon — AI-Powered Code Review & Developer Intelligence Package
Modular Python code review engine with CLI, SDK, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) interfaces, AST analysis, and safe remediation.
logicfalconThis project is authored and published strictly as an in-process Python library on the Python Package Index. It does not require a hosted dashboard or cloud service — executing natively within the consumer's application runtime.

Problem Statement
Developer tools and AI coding assistants frequently propose automated code changes without verification, risking destructive overwrites, directory traversal, broken syntax, or unvetted logic errors in production codebases.
Engineering Goals
- Provide 3 seamless interfaces: CLI, SDK, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) for modern AI-assisted engineering.
- Implement automated file and workspace analysis with structured findings and severity ratings.
- Guarantee safe remediation with 10 strict acceptance checks including path containment and rollback.
- Achieve 100% test pass rate across core review, security, and CLI modules.

Stage: Developer Interfaces
Role: Access LayerProvides terminal commands, importable Python classes, and MCP tools for AI coding assistants.
Execution Pipeline & Mechanics
Multi-Interface Ingestion
Accepts review requests via CLI flags, Python method calls, or Model Context Protocol tool invocations.
AST & Heuristic Analysis
Constructs syntax trees to detect dead code, insecure patterns, and type inconsistencies without runtime risk.
Safety-Gated Remediation
Executes 10 acceptance checks: path containment, symlink traversal prevention, dry-run diff generation, approval confirmation, and automated backup.
SARIF & Diagnostic Export
Generates machine-readable SARIF 2.1.0 outputs compatible with GitHub Security tabs and CI/CD quality gates.
Engineering Challenges & Design Decisions
Decision: In-process AST and Ruff analysis instead of running dynamic code execution.
Rationale: Dynamic execution introduces severe security and sandbox vulnerability risks on untrusted repositories.
Alternative Rejected: Running untrusted code in an unisolated runtime.
Decision: Strict fail-closed approval requirement for all automated file edits.
Rationale: Prevents accidental mass-modification or developer data loss when running automated review scripts.
Alternative Rejected: Silent in-place file mutation.
Core Architectural Highlights
LogicFalcon uses a modular architecture where the Analysis Core parses Python AST and coordinates with Ruff rule-checking. Proposed fixes pass through a fail-closed Remediation Governor that creates atomic file backups and enforces path boundaries before any write occurs. Results are surfaced via CLI, Python SDK, or MCP server with SARIF and JSON export options.
Testing & Empirical Evaluation
Comprehensive pytest suite verifying AST visitor correctness, CLI flag parsing, MCP server protocol adherence, and edge-case error recovery.
Security & Reliability Defenses
Key Engineering Learnings
- •Providing an MCP interface allows AI coding assistants like Claude or Cursor to leverage deterministic linting tools as first-class tools.
